Do I need a passport to take a cruise?
For most closed-loop cruises departing and returning to the same U.S. port, U.S. citizens can travel with an original birth certificate and a government-issued photo ID. However, a valid U.S. passport is strongly recommended—especially for international cruises or in the event of an emergency that requires flying home from a foreign port.
What’s included in the cruise fare?
Most cruise fares include your cabin, meals in the main dining areas, onboard entertainment, pools, and select activities. Specialty dining, drinks, excursions, and gratuities may be extra depending on the cruise line.
